The following topics were suggested by our 2019 attendees:

· General Parenting Issues: Developmental Parenting (toddlers/pre-k/kindergarten age children/middle childhood/ teens); Emotional Intelligence

· General Adoption Issues: Trauma Issues; Impact of Social Media Pre and Post Adoption; DNA; Search/Reunion within the Adoption Constellation; Managing Open Adoption; Adoptee Panel

· Adoptive Parenting Specific Issues: Transracial Adoption; International Adoption; Reactive Attachment Disorder; Restorative Approaches to Discipline

· Older Adoptive Child Parenting Issues: Resources for Older Child Adoptees: Attachment/Identity/School Issues

· Child Welfare Workforce Topics: Foster Care Process; Working with Birth Parents while Children in Process of Adoption; Building Communication between Foster and Birth Families; Clinical/ Therapeutic Intervention for the Adoption Constellation; Recruitment of Families for Special Populations; Ethical Advertising for Foster and Adoptive Parents

Our 2019 attendees commented that they wanted: examples, practical knowledge, and available resources.

The "Let's Talk Adoption"sm conference is a dynamic and educational event coordinated entirely by CPFA volunteers in conjunction with the Rutgers School of Social Work and the New Jersey Interagency Adoption Council. The goal is to educate and support those involved in the adoption constellation. This non-profit conference has received accolades throughout its 38-year history by both parents and professionals.

Final Decisions - The conference committee has the sole right to reject any presenter, organization or material not considered to meet the educational/non-commercial spirit of the conference.
